HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, In 1962, Robert D. Stuart, Jr., and former Lake 
3County Republican Chairman Robert
Milton founded the Lake 
4County Republican Federation to promote Republican
interests 
5in Lake County; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Since that time, the Federation has helped 
7countless candidates,
elected officials, volunteers, and 
8voters by faithfully providing the main office, staff, and

9financial support for the Lake County Republican Party; the 
10Lake County Republican Federation works closely with the Lake 
11County
Republican Central Committee to motivate the electorate 
12to vote Republican through
"bottom-up" politics; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Voter and volunteer services include: mailing 
14sample ballots and
voter guides, distributing candidate 
15information, preventing voter fraud, and providing
an ongoing 
16and visible presence for Republican activities in Lake County 
17by
underwriting a permanent storefront office with full-time 
18dedicated staff and
volunteers; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Federation supports Republican candidates in 
20Lake County by providing the
necessary infrastructure at the 
21local level; the organization assists candidates and
elected 
22officials by distributing campaign signs and literature,

1providing work and
storage space at county headquarters, 
2coordinating volunteers, educating voters,
advertising 
3countywide Republican events, and hosting 2 semi-annual 
4countywide
dinners which showcase Republican candidates and 
5the Republican agenda; and

  
 
6    WHEREAS, In celebration of 50 years of service to the Lake 
7County GOP, the Lake County
Republican Federation will host its 
850th Anniversary Spring Gala on Friday, April 20,
2012 at 
9Marriott's Lincolnshire Resort; Federation co-founder Robert 
10D. Stuart, Jr., 95
years young, plans to be at the event to 
11help mark this milestone; his son, Alexander D.
Stuart, 
12currently chairs the organization; therefore, be it
  
 
13    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
14NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
15we congratulate the Lake County Republican Federation on its 
1650th anniversary; and be it further
  
 
17    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
18presented to the Lake County Republican Federation as a symbol 
19of our respect and esteem.
