HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives wish to recognize the Gold Star Dads of 
4America, the fathers of the brave men and women who made the 
5ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Gold Star Dads of America organization was 
7created to bring together fathers in a single community to 
8honor and remember their children and to support one another in 
9their loss; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, The Gold Star Dads of America manage Operation 
11Noble Warrior, an ongoing support mechanism to assist United 
12States military veterans and their families; the project serves 
13to benefit veterans who have suffered debilitating 
14catastrophic injuries, including severe Post Traumatic Stress 
15Disorder, while serving in the U.S. armed forces; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, The Gold Star Dads of America also conduct 
17survivor outreach service projects that directly aid our Gold 
18Star Families; the purpose of this outreach is to help the 
19military deliver on its commitment to the families of the 
20fallen; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, These outreach and veteran assistance projects

1provide public awareness and create a positive outlet for the 
2military and civilian communities to unite in a single effort; 
3and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, It is imperative that we as a nation never forget 
5the ultimate sacrifice made by members of our armed forces and 
6the devastating impact their deaths have had on family, 
7friends, and especially fathers; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
9NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
10we honor the Gold Star Dads of America and pledge our continued 
11support for their efforts to aid members and families from 
12every branch of service who have suffered catastrophic injuries 
13while serving our nation; and be it further
  
 
14    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
15presented to the Illinois chapter of the Gold Star Dads of 
16America as a symbol of our deepest esteem and respect.
