HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the 
4administration, teachers, and students of Glenbrook South High 
5School in Glenview on the occasion of the school's 50th 
6anniversary; and

  
 
7    WHEREAS, The 50th anniversary of Glenbrook South High 
8School will be honored during the 50th Golden Gala V-Show on 
9February 25, 2012 at the David P. Pasquini 
10Fieldhouse/Auditorium; Glenbrook South will also host a year's 
11worth of activities to commemorate this milestone event; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Glenbrook South High School continues to 
13demonstrate its commitment to educational excellence by 
14placing
in the top 94th percentile nationwide for ACT scores 
15and receiving awards for Principal of the Year from the 
16Illinois
Principals Association and 2 Presidential Awards for 
17Excellence in Teaching Mathematics and Science; Glenbrook 
18South is also among
the first schools in the nation to receive 
19the Excellence in Education Award from the United States 
20Department of
Education; and
 
21    WHEREAS, Glenbrook South High School is proudly 
22represented by such distinguished alumni as Tony

1Award-nominated
actor and writer Arian Moayed, Emmy-winning 
2writer/producer Steven Levitan, Grammy-nominated 
3singer-songwriter
Patrick Stump, and bronze medalist speed 
4skater Lana Gehring; therefore, be it
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
6NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
7we congratulate the administration, teachers, and students of 
8Glenbrook South High School on the occasion of the school's 
950th anniversary and wish them continued success and happiness 
10in the future; and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to Glenbrook South High School as a symbol of our 
13esteem and respect.
