HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Naperville 
4Park District on being named a nationally-accredited agency by 
5the Commission for Accreditation of Park and Recreation 
6Agencies (CAPRA) on November 2, 2012; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The Naperville Park District became a 
8nationally-accredited agency during the National Recreation 
9and Park Association 2011 Congress in Atlanta, Georgia; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, CAPRA accreditation is the only national 
11accreditation for park and recreation agencies, and is a 
12measure of an agency's overall quality of operation, 
13management, and service to the community; national 
14accreditation through CAPRA is an extensive multi-year 
15process, which includes the completion of an application and 
16detailed self-assessment report, a site visit by a committee of 
17experienced park and recreation professionals, and a final 
18assessment completed by the agency and the Commission; 
19accreditation requires agencies to respond to 144 standards 
20representing elements of effective and efficient park and 
21recreation operations; to become accredited, agencies must 
22fully meet 36 standards deemed fundamental to a quality agency 
23and at least 92 of the remaining standards; and

1    WHEREAS, The Naperville Park District is only the second 
2Illinois park district to attain this standard of recognition; 
3the District is the 104th agency in the United States to have 
4achieved CAPRA accreditation, out of 10,000 parks and 
5recreation organizations nationwide; and

  
 
6    WHEREAS, The administration and employees of the 
7Naperville Park District serve as models of hard work, 
8integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of 
9Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
10    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
11NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
12we congratulate the Naperville Park District on the occasion of 
13becoming a nationally-accredited agency and wish the 
14District's  administration and employees continued success and 
15happiness in the future; and be it further
  
 
16    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
17presented to the Naperville Park District as a symbol of our 
18esteem and respect.
