HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate North Central 
4College President Harold Wilde on his retirement; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, North Central College President Harold (Hal) 
6Wilde will retire at the end of the 2012 calendar year, after 
7nearly 22 years at the helm of the 3,000-student private 
8comprehensive liberal arts college in Naperville; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, He is  only the ninth president in the history of 
10the 150-year-old institution; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, During his  time as president, the institution has 
12seen a nearly 10-fold increase in its endowment, a doubling of 
13its full-time student population, completion of 15 major 
14building projects, continuously balanced budgets, and a 
15successful $50-million capital campaign; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, His  retirement will coincide with the conclusion 
17of the College's 18-month sesquicentennial celebration; 
18therefore, be it
  
 
  
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
20NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1we congratulate President Harold Wilde on his retirement, thank 
2him for his service, and wish him all the best in his future 
3endeavors; and be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
