| 2 | | WHEREAS, Athletic trainers have a long history of providing |
| 3 | | quality health care for athletes and those engaged in physical |
| 4 | | activity based on specific tasks, knowledge, and skills |
| 5 | | acquired through their nationally-regulated educational |
| 6 | | processes; and

| 7 | | WHEREAS, Athletic trainers provide injury prevention |
| 8 | | services, recognition, evaluation, and aggressive treatment, |
| 9 | | rehabilitation, health care administration, education, and |
| 10 | | guidance; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, The National Athletic Trainers' Association |
| 12 | | represents and supports 35,000 members of the athletic training |
| 13 | | profession employed in professional sports, colleges and |
| 14 | | universities, high schools, clinics and hospitals, corporate |
| 15 | | and industrial settings, and branches of the military; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Leading organizations concerned with athletic |
| 17 | | training and health care have joined together in a common |
| 18 | | desire to raise public awareness of the importance of the |
| 19 | | athletic training profession and to emphasize the importance of |
| 20 | | quality health care within the aforementioned settings; and

| 21 | | WHEREAS, Such an effort will improve health care for |
