HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of the 
4Northern Illinois Regional Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club on 
5the 45th anniversary of the Club; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The goal of the Early Ford V-8 Club is educating 
7others on the history of the early Ford V-8 as well as the 
8preservation of the car; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, As part of its activities, the Club holds an 
10annual veterans lunch to honor the veterans within the group; 
11members have made trips to the Manteno Veterans Home in their 
12antique vehicles; and they hold an annual Poker Run to benefit 
13the American Cancer Society; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, The Club has supported the restoration of the 
15Desert Rat B-17 in Marengo; members have driven their cars to 
16the Turners Club annual St. Patrick's Day lunch; and they 
17attend national events to have their cars judged for proper 
18restoration; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, The Club does driving tours, attends charity 
20Concours d'Elegence shows, visits museums and historical 
21societies, and has events for members only; and

1    WHEREAS, The Club holds monthly meetings that include a 
2"tech talk" to help the members with their vehicle 
3restorations; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
5NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
6we congratulate the members of the Northern Illinois Regional 
7Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club and wish them well in their 
8future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the members of the Northern Illinois Regional 
11Group of the Early Ford V-8 Club as a symbol of our respect and 
12esteem.
