HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The concept of today's savings banks and savings 
3and loan associations has been in effect in the State of 
4Illinois since July 1, 1872, when the General Assembly passed 
5an act to enable a group of individuals to raise funds for loan 
6purposes among its members; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Savings banks have grown and prospered over the 
8years, becoming strong financial institutions that contribute 
9to the betterment of their communities in the process; and


  
 
10    WHEREAS, Hoyne Savings Bank of Chicago, chartered on 
11January 1, 1887, is celebrating 125 years of continuous service 
12to the community in 2012; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Hoyne Savings Bank has served as a bulwark of 
14confidence and strength for the entire Chicago community and 
15has weathered depressions, financial crises, and other 
16calamities that have plagued the nation throughout its 125 
17years of operation; therefore, be it
  
 
18    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
19NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
20we congratulate the board and employees of Hoyne Savings Bank 
21on the occasion of the 125th anniversary of the institution and

1wish them continued success and happiness in the future; and be 
2it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to Hoyne Savings Bank as a symbol of our respect and
