HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Bob Swanson on his 
4retirement as Athletic Director of Rock Island High School; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bob Swanson was appointed District 41 Director of 
6Athletics in July of 1998; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, He is a native of Monmouth; he received his 
8Bachelors degree in Communications and Political Science and 
9his Masters Degree in Communications from Western Illinois 
10University; in 1985, he received his Juris Doctor Degree, Magna 
11Cum Laude, from Northern Illinois University College of Law; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, He has a background in teaching, coaching, 
14business, management, and law; he was selected Division 4 
15"Athletic Director of the Year" for  2006-2007 by the Illinois 
16Athletic Directors Association; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, As Athletic Director, he supervises all athletic 
18teams, coaches, equipment, and facilities; he is also 
19responsible for student-athlete academic programs including 
20supervised athletic study table and weekly and semester IHSA 
21student academic eligibility checks; and

1    WHEREAS, He will enjoy his retirement along with his wife, 
2Debra; and his children, Angela and Jennifer; therefore, be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Bob Swanson on his retirement and wish him well 
6in his future endeavors; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to Bob Swanson as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
