HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate the members of Pana 
4Elks Lodge #1261 as they celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 
5Lodge; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, The Pana Elks Lodge received its charter on July 
711, 1912; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, The Pana Elks Lodge currently has 258 members; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, The Pana Elks Lodge members are number one in 
10giving and caring, helping out in the community wherever 
11needed, as well as helping with the Illinois Elks Children's 
12Care Corporation; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, The Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks is 
14number 3 in giving to scholarships, behind the federal 
15government and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Pana has been the home to 2 Illinois State 
17Presidents of the Elks, Jim Inman from 1992 to 1993 and Darrell 
18Swisher from 2008 to 2009; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE

1NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
2we congratulate the Pana Elks on the anniversary of the Lodge 
3charter and wish them continued success and happiness in the 
4future; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the Pana Elks as a symbol of our respect and 
7esteem.
