| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are pleased to congratulate the Lake Park High | ||||||
| 4 | School Boys Track and Field team on winning its 3rd straight | ||||||
| 5 | (and 4th overall) IHSA 3A State Championship on May 26, 2012; | ||||||
| 6 | and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, The All State athletes for the team are:
Scott | ||||||
| 8 | Filip, who placed 7th in the high jump, 5th in the long jump, | ||||||
| 9 | 7th in the triple jump, and 6th in 4 x 100 relay; Kevin | ||||||
| 10 | Spejcher, who placed 4th in the High Jump; Shawn Koch, who | ||||||
| 11 | placed 2nd in the triple jump; Tim Ehrhardt, who placed 5th in | ||||||
| 12 | the pole vault; Derrick Smith, who placed 7th in the pole | ||||||
| 13 | vault; Per Johnson, who placed 7th in the discus; and Marcus | ||||||
| 14 | Jegede, who placed 4th in the long jump and 6th in the 4 x 100 | ||||||
| 15 | relay; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, The team finished the 4 x 800 relay in 8th place, | ||||||
| 17 | with Jeremy Lozano, Eric Dade, Dakota Morales, and Kevin | ||||||
| 18 | Jorgensen running; the team finished the
4 x 100 relay in 6th | ||||||
| 19 | place, with Mike Amerlan, Demetri Alimissis, Scott Filip, and | ||||||
| 20 | Marcus Jegede running for the school; and
| ||||||
| 21 | WHEREAS, Other State qualifiers included
Scott Karlis in | ||||||
| 22 | the discus;
4 x 800 relay alternates were Andy Birkley, Lucas | ||||||

| |||||||
| 1 | Bracher, Connor Peck, and Alex Kessler; and
4 x 100 relay | ||||||
| 2 | alternates were Vince Puzon, Joe Pierce, Shawn Koch, and Gio | ||||||
| 3 | Basso; and

| 4 | WHEREAS, Tim Ehrhardt, Alex Kessler, Dakota Morales, Kevin | ||||||
| 5 | Jorgensen, Scott Filip, Andy Birkley, Lucas Bracher, and Per | ||||||
| 6 | Johnson were also named "Academic All Conference" for the | ||||||
| 7 | UpState 8 Conference;
Tim Ehrhardt, Alex Kessler, Dakota | ||||||
| 8 | Morales, and Kevin Jorgensen are all National Honor Society | ||||||
| 9 | members;
Alex Kessler was also named as a National Merit | ||||||
| 10 | Finalist; and

| 11 | WHEREAS, Team Coaches are
Head Coach Jay Ivory; and

| 12 | Assistant Coaches Bob Nihells, Tom Kaberna, Doug Juraska, Lance | ||||||
| 13 | Murphy, and Eddie Eisman Jr.; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 14 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 15 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 16 | we congratulate the Lake Park High School Boys Track and Field | ||||||
| 17 | team and wish them all the best in their future endeavors; and | ||||||
| 18 | be it further

| 19 | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be | ||||||
| 20 | presented to the Lake Park High School Boys Track and Field | ||||||
| 21 | team as a symbol of our respect and esteem.
