| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of
Kim |
| 4 | | Presbrey of Aurora, who passed away on May 26, 2012; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was born on July 1, 1951, in Aurora; |
| 6 | | his parents were Betty and George Presbrey; he graduated from |
| 7 | | West Aurora High School in 1969, Northwestern University in |
| 8 | | 1973, and Vanderbilt Law School in 1976; after graduation, he |
| 9 | | practiced law with his father at Presbrey and Presbrey and |
| 10 | | became principal owner of the firm after his father's |
| 11 | | retirement; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the managing partner of Presbrey & |
| 13 | | Associates and practiced workers' compensation law since |
| 14 | | 1977; he also served as president of Illinois Futures, Inc., a |
| 15 | | scholarship program for children of disabled workers, for 10 |
| 16 | | years and was the founder and Chairman of the Board of Doctors |
| 17 | | Direct, Inc.; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was a past president of the Illinois |
| 19 | | Trial Lawyers Association and a member of the Illinois Trial |
| 20 | | Lawyers Association, the Workers' Compensation Lawyers |
| 21 | | Association, the Illinois State Bar, American Trial Lawyers, |
| 22 | | the Workplace Injury Litigation Group, and the Kane County Bar |

| 1 | | Association; he was also the founder of the Kane County Bar |
| 2 | | Association's Workers' Compensation Section; and
|
| 3 | | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was the co-author of the LexisNexis |
| 4 | | Illinois Workers' Compensation Guidebook; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey was a member of the North American |
| 6 | | Versatile Hunting Dog Association, the Illinois chapter of |
| 7 | | NAVHDA, the AOPA, and EEA; he also worked with the Illinois |
| 8 | | Conservation Foundation for many years; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey enjoyed hunting and fishing, nature, |
| 10 | | traveling, flying, and walking with his dog, Hershey; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Kim Presbrey is survived by his wife, Colleen; his |
| 12 | | sons, Kenton (fiancee, Kelly Johnson) and Kevin; and his |
| 13 | | brother, Tom (Laurie) Presbrey, and his children, Joseph, |
| 14 | | Scott, and Kara; therefore, be it

| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE |
| 16 | | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that |
| 17 | | we mourn, along with his family and friends, the passing of Kim |
| 18 | | Presbrey; and be it further

| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
