| 1 | HOUSE RESOLUTION

| 2 | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of | ||||||
| 3 | Representatives are saddened to learn of the death of United | ||||||
| 4 | States Army Specialist Trevor Pinnick of Lawrenceville, who | ||||||
| 5 | gave his life defending America's freedom on June 11, 2012, | ||||||
| 6 | near Panjwa'I, Kandahar, Afghanistan; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick was born on January 6, 1992; he | ||||||
| 8 | was the son of Thomas and Nancy Pinnick of Lawrenceville; and
| ||||||
| 9 | WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick graduated from Lawrenceville | ||||||
| 10 | High School in May of 2010; he later entered the Army in August | ||||||
| 11 | of 2010 and reported to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, for basic | ||||||
| 12 | training; and
| ||||||
| 13 | WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick married his high school | ||||||
| 14 | sweetheart, Martha, on July 9, 2010; he was the proud father of | ||||||
| 15 | Melody Renee Pinnick, who was born on September 15, 2010; and
| ||||||
| 16 | WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick served with the 18th Engineer | ||||||
| 17 | Company, 1st Battalion, 37th Field Artillery Regiment, 3rd | ||||||
| 18 | Stryker Brigade Combat Team of the 2nd Infantry Division, out | ||||||
| 19 | of Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Washington; and
| ||||||
| 20 | WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick received the Army Achievement | ||||||
| |||||||
| |||||||
| 1 | Medal on September 6, 2011 for his work in August 2011 with the | ||||||
| 2 | 18th Engineer Company, 2nd Battalion, 3rd Infantry Regiment and | ||||||
| 3 | was promoted to Specialist in the first week of June 2011; and
| ||||||
| 4 | WHEREAS, United States and Illinois flags throughout the | ||||||
| 5 | State flew at half-staff as a symbol of mourning and to honor | ||||||
| 6 | the sacrifice of SPC Trevor Pinnick; and
| ||||||
| 7 | WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick will be remembered for his love | ||||||
| 8 | of practical jokes, his warm heart, his patriotism, and his | ||||||
| 9 | bravery; and | ||||||
| 10 | WHEREAS, SPC Trevor Pinnick dedicated his life to defending | ||||||
| 11 | America's freedom and made the ultimate sacrifice in service to | ||||||
| 12 | his nation; he will be dearly missed by his wife, Martha | ||||||
| 13 | Pinnick; his daughter, Melody Pinnick; his mother, Nancy | ||||||
| 14 | Pinnick; his father, Thomas Pinnick; his older brother, Thomas | ||||||
| 15 | Pinnick Jr.; his twin sisters, Kayla Lynn Pinnick and Bethany | ||||||
| 16 | Rose Pinnick; his fellow soldiers; and the citizens of a | ||||||
| 17 | grateful nation; therefore, be it
| ||||||
| 18 | RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE | ||||||
| 19 | NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that | ||||||
| 20 | we mourn, along with his family, friends, and the members of a | ||||||
| 21 | grateful nation, the passing of United States Army Specialist | ||||||
| 22 | Trevor Pinnick; and be it further
| ||||||
