| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to honor Peter O'Brien for the |
| 4 | | great work he has done in his community and congratulate him |
| 5 | | for winning the Victor Award from Neumann Family Services; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien serves as the President of MADO |
| 7 | | Management LP, a family-owned company that focuses on real |
| 8 | | estate management, restaurant hospitality, and healthcare; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien and his family began their journey |
| 10 | | to help those in need during the early 1970s, when O'Briens |
| 11 | | Restaurant and Bar was established in the Old Town neighborhood |
| 12 | | of Chicago; the creation of O'Briens helped to revitalize the |
| 13 | | Old Town neighborhood and turn it into the prosperous, |
| 14 | | family-friendly neighborhood it is today; he continues his |
| 15 | | commitment to his neighborhood through his membership and |
| 16 | | trusteeship with the Old Town Residents and Merchants |
| 17 | | Association; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Inspired by the diagnosis of mental illness of one |
| 19 | | of his children, Peter O'Brien took it upon himself to expand |
| 20 | | and enhance the level of service to those with serious mental |
| 21 | | illness; he currently serves as the President of MADO |
| 22 | | Healthcare, a consortium of 5 intermediate care facilities that |
|

| 1 | | provide essential services to seniors, persons needing |
| 2 | | physical and occupational rehabilitation, and those with |
| 3 | | serious mental illnesses; with his core mission of providing |
| 4 | | the finest rehabilitation and recovery services to those with a |
| 5 | | serious illness, he and his family have provided world-class |
| 6 | | therapeutic and rehabilitative services for over 50 years; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien has worked throughout his life to |
| 8 | | help those in need, having served in nearly every capacity, |
| 9 | | from direct care to administration; he is known throughout the |
| 10 | | healthcare community for his unmatched commitment to serving |
| 11 | | the needs of those with serious mental illness and his great |
| 12 | | compassion and respect to those who are afflicted; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, The Victor Award is given by Neumann Family |
| 14 | | Services to remarkable individuals, like Peter O'Brien, who |
| 15 | | provide inspiration and demonstrate outstanding support to the |
| 16 | | disability community; and |
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien serves as a model of compassion, |
| 18 | | integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of |
| 19 | | Illinois and the world at large; therefore, be it
