HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives are pleased to honor Peter O'Brien for the great work he has done in his community and congratulate him for winning the Victor Award from Neumann Family Services; and

WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien serves as the President of MADO Management LP, a family-owned company that focuses on real estate management, restaurant hospitality, and healthcare; and

WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien and his family began their journey to help those in need during the early 1970s, when O'Briens Restaurant and Bar was established in the Old Town neighborhood of Chicago; the creation of O'Briens helped to revitalize the Old Town neighborhood and turn it into the prosperous, family-friendly neighborhood it is today; he continues his commitment to his neighborhood through his membership and trusteeship with the Old Town Residents and Merchants Association; and

WHEREAS, Inspired by the diagnosis of mental illness of one of his children, Peter O'Brien took it upon himself to expand and enhance the level of service to those with serious mental illness; he currently serves as the President of MADO Healthcare, a consortium of 5 intermediate care facilities that provide essential services to seniors, persons needing physical and occupational rehabilitation, and those with serious mental illnesses; with his core mission of providing the finest rehabilitation and recovery services to those with a serious illness, he and his family have provided world-class therapeutic and rehabilitative services for over 50 years; and

WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien has worked throughout his life to help those in need, having served in nearly every capacity, from direct care to administration; he is known throughout the healthcare community for his unmatched commitment to serving the needs of those with serious mental illness and his great compassion and respect to those who are afflicted; and

WHEREAS, The Victor Award is given by Neumann Family Services to remarkable individuals, like Peter O'Brien, who provide inspiration and demonstrate outstanding support to the disability community; and

WHEREAS, Peter O'Brien serves as a model of compassion, integrity, and dedication for the people of the State of Illinois and the world at large; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we honor Peter O'Brien for his great works, congratulate him for winning the prestigious Victor Award, and wish him continued success and happiness in the future; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Peter O'Brien as a symbol of our esteem and respect.
