HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to recognize the Greater Quad 
4Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on being named 2012 Small 
5Hispanic Chamber of the Year by the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of 
6Commerce; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, The award was presented during the U.S. Hispanic 
8Chamber of Commerce's 33rd annual national convention in Los 
9Angeles, the country's largest gathering of Hispanic business 
10leaders and entrepreneurs; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, The Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of 
12Commerce was founded in 2008 as a way to support and promote 
13new business opportunities for Hispanic-owned businesses in 
14the Quad Cities and surrounding area; it has close to 200 
15members; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, It is the only organization in the Quad Cities 
17created to address specific needs of the Hispanic business 
18community and serves the Quad Cities and surrounding area in 
19Illinois and Iowa, including Sterling, Rock Falls, Iowa City, 
20Muscatine, and West Liberty; and
  
 
  
21    WHEREAS, Bob Ontiveros is the chamber president of the

1Greater Quad Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce; therefore, be

3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we recognize and congratulate the Greater Quad Cities Hispanic 
6Chamber of Commerce on being named Small Hispanic Chamber of 
7the Year; and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to Bob Ontiveros as an expression of our esteem and 
10respect.
