HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to congratulate Chief Jim Saletta 
4on his retirement from the Huntley Fire Protection District; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Chief Saletta has been in the fire service for 36 
7years; he started his career in 1976, with the Pingree Grove 
8Pine Protection District; in 1979, Chief Saletta became a 
9career firefighter with the Elgin Fire Department, where he 
10spent 21 years and was named deputy chief; after a short 
11retirement from Elgin, he was appointed in 2001, as fire chief 
12with the Huntley Fire Protection District; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Chief Saletta has not only been a tremendous asset 
14to the Huntley Fire Department but to several area 
15organizations as well; he was named president of McHenry County 
16Fire Chiefs Association, vice-president of MABAS division 5, a 
17member of the 911 board, the ETSB board, the Illinois Fire 
18Chiefs Association, and is currently president of one of the 
19most influential organizations involved in the safety of 
20Illinois citizens, the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance, known for 
21Camp I Am Me, a camp for child burn victims; and
  
 

  
22    WHEREAS, Chief Saletta has been very active within the

1community and much respected throughout the State; therefore, 
2be it
  
 
3    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
4NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
5we congratulate Chief Jim Saletta on his outstanding career and 
6much deserved retirement; and be it further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to Chief Jim Saletta as a symbol of our respect and 
9esteem.
