HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to honor Gregg T. Riddle on being a 
4pioneer in Illinois 9-1-1 public safety communications for over 
530 years; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Gregg T. Riddle was in the Elk Grove Fire 
7Department from 1971 through 2000, where he rose to the rank of 
8fire chief; he worked for the West Suburban Consolidated 
9Dispatch Center from 2000 to 2008 as its first executive 
10director; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Gregg Riddle has been a member of the Association 
12of Public-Safety Communications Officials since 1981; he has 
13held the positions of International Executive Council 
14Representative, International 1st Vice President, 
15International 2nd Vice President, International President, and 
16most recently International Immediate Past President; in 2003, 
17he was awarded the prestigious Association Life status; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, During his career in public safety, Gregg Riddle 
19has led the initiative for wireless 9-1-1 funding in the State, 
20traveled nationwide and across the globe promoting public 
21safety communications, helped pass D-Block and create the First 
22Responder Network Authority (FirstNet), and instructed at

1Alexian Brothers Medical Center with its EMT program; he was 
2certified in the State as a Fire Officer III, Fire Prevention 
3Officer II, and as a licensed paramedic; he was instrumental in 
4building the Elk Grove FD Station 8 and renovating the Elk 
5Grove FD Administration Center; and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Gregg Riddle graduated from Harper Community 
7College with an associate of arts in fire science in 1976 and 
8graduated from Northern Illinois University with a bachelor of 
9science in biology and chemistry with a secondary certificate 
10in 1971; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Gregg Riddle is married to Shay; they are the 
12parents of Scott and Bradley and in-laws to Jennifer; he enjoys 
13golfing and fishing; therefore, be it
  
 
14    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
15NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
16we honor Gregg Riddle on his over 30 year career in public 
17safety communications; and be it further
  
 
18    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
19presented to Gregg Riddle.
