| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of |
| 3 | | Representatives are pleased to recognize a century of |
| 4 | | publication of the Ramsey News-Journal by the Mueller family; |

| 6 | | WHEREAS, The Ramsey News-Journal was purchased by the |
| 7 | | Mueller Family on April 15, 1912, by Mr. and Mrs. J. H. |
| 8 | | Mueller; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, The Ramsey News-Journal has been a family affair |
| 10 | | since 1912; Charles Mueller, the first-born son of Julius and |
| 11 | | Edna, worked with his father until 1933; Robert Julius Mueller, |
| 12 | | the second son, joined the paper permanently
upon the departure |
| 13 | | of Charles; at times, both Edna and Evelyn (Robert's wife) |
| 14 | | worked at the News-Journal; in 1965, J. H. was presented with |
| 15 | | the Golden Make-Up Rule for more than 50 years of service to |
| 16 | | the public at the centennial meeting of the Illinois Press |
| 17 | | Association in Springfield; and

| 18 | | WHEREAS, The Ramsey News-Journal is in its third location-a |
| 19 | | 2 story building on Superior Street, which was purchased in |
| 20 | | early 1940; prior to that it was located at the corner of West |
| 21 | | 5th and South Front Street, just east of the I.C.R.R. in the |
| 22 | | east room of the People's State Bank Building; its original |
