HOUSE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of 
3Representatives are pleased to honor our esteemed colleague, 
4State Representative Eddie Winters, for his service as a member 
5of the Illinois General Assembly and thank him for his 
6dedicated service to the people of Illinois; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Representative Winters has served as a Chicago 
8police officer for more than 18 years, following in the 
9footsteps of his correctional officer father; as a police 
10officer, Representative Winters proudly protected and served 
11the community while working with its many residents; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Representative Winters attended Victor Herbert 
13Grammar School and St. Malachy Grammar School; he attended 
14Wright Community College before transferring to Roosevelt 
15University where he received his bachelor's degree; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Representative Winters helped found a community 
17organization called HOW-Homeowners of West-Town to help care 
18for the area; he is an involved member of the PTA at Herbert 
19Grammar School, an active volunteer at the Salvation Army, and 
20a strong advocate for the James Jordan Foundation; and
  
 
21    WHEREAS, Representative Winters has listened to

1constituents' concerns and fought to improve public safety, 
2education, and housing for the people he proudly serves; and
  
 
3    WHEREAS, Representative Winters has been a vocal leader for 
4the 10th District; in his short time in office, he has worked 
5diligently to bring attention to the needs of the west side of 
6Chicago; therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE 
8NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that 
9we thank State Representative Eddie Winters for his service to 
10the people of Illinois and wish him much success in his future 
11endeavors; and be it further
  
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
13presented to State Representative Eddie Winters as an 
14expression of our respect and esteem.
