HOUSE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of Representatives wish to congratulate Representative Franco Coladipietro on his distinguished service to Illinois' Legislative District 45 and the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro has served in the Illinois House with honor and distinction; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro was born on June 13, 1968; he earned his bachelor's degree in finance from Northern Illinois University in 1990 and his Juris Doctorate from the John Marshall Law School in 1993; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro was admitted to the Illinois Bar Association in 1993 and the New York Bar Association in 1996; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro joined the law firm of Amari & Locallo in 1995; he is currently the managing partner of the firm's Bloomingdale office; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro is married to his wife, Amy, and has a son, Joey, and a daughter, Alyssa; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro was first elected to the Illinois House in 2007; he has subsequently been re-elected twice, representing the people of the DuPage County communities of Addison, Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Glen Ellyn, Glendale Heights, Itasca, Medinah, Roselle, Wheaton, and Winfield; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro has served with distinction on the Financial Institutions committee as the Republican Spokesperson; he has also served on the Legislative Ethics committee, the International Trade & Commerce committee, the Business Occupational Licenses committee, the Public Utilities committee, the Aging committee, the Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness committee, the Judiciary-Civil Law committee, the Least Cost Power Procurement committee, the Prison Reform committee, the Registration and Regulation committee, and the Bio-Technology committee; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro is an avid runner of 5K races and has promoted healthy lifestyle initiatives in his legislative district; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro has been a fierce advocate for public safety issues and was the chief sponsor of House Bill 975 of the 95th General Assembly, which provides for victims of crimes to be notified when prisoners are released from incarceration; the bill received unanimous House and Senate support and was signed into law as Public Act 95-0317; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro played an important role in the impeachment of former Governor Rod Blagojevich by serving as a co-sponsor of the resolution that created the Special Investigative Committee to investigate the conduct of the former governor and as a co-sponsor of the resolution to impeach Rod Blagojevich; and

WHEREAS, During his 6-year tenure in the Illinois House, Representative Coladipietro served as the Chief House Sponsor of several other meaningful Public Acts that have benefited the constituents of District 45 and the people of the State of Illinois; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro has made other innumerable contributions to the public good through his generous contributions to the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Fund and the "50 Men Who Cook" annual fundraiser, and through his extensive civic and volunteer involvement and service on the Boards of Directors for the DuPage County Area Project, Inc., the Glen Oaks Hospital Foundation, and as an active member of the Bloomingdale, Carol Stream, Roselle, Glendale Heights, and Wheaton Chambers of Commerce; and

WHEREAS, Representative Coladipietro has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Business Ledger's Today's Young Executive Award, the Law Bulletin Publishing Company's Top Forty Lawyers Under Forty Award, the Illinois Bar Association's Young Lawyer of the Year, the Bloomingdale Chamber of Commerce's Rookie of the Year, the John Marshall Law School Alumni Distinguished Service Award, the DuPage County Friend of Agriculture Award, and the Illinois Bar Association's Board of Governors and Community Service Awards; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we wish Representative Coladipietro all the best in his future endeavors and congratulate him on a job well done in the General Assembly; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Representative Coladipietro, his wife, and his children as an expression of our esteem and respect for our colleague and friend.
