| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.
|
| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Counties Code is amended by adding Section |
| 5 | | 5-1133 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (55 ILCS 5/5-1133 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 5-1133. Counties of greater than 300,000 but less than |
| 8 | | 2,000,000; reporting of information. |
| 9 | | A county board in a county with a population greater than |
| 10 | | 300,000 but less than 2,000,000 may by ordinance require any |
| 11 | | unit of local government or agency to which the county board |
| 12 | | chairman or county executive nominates and the county board |
| 13 | | confirms a majority of member appointments to provide the |
| 14 | | county with detailed information, including, but not limited |
| 15 | | to, the unit's or agency's finances, budget, contracts, |
| 16 | | employment, and ethics policies, in the manner and with the |
| 17 | | frequency specified by the ordinance. The ordinance may require |
| 18 | | the unit of local government or agency to immediately disclose |
| 19 | | to the county any internal or external findings of |
| 20 | | non-compliance with any law or regulation involving the unit of |
| 21 | | local government or agency and its personnel.
