AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 541




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 541 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:

 
4    "Section 5. The Counties Code is amended  by adding Section 
55-1133 as follows:
 
6    (55 ILCS 5/5-1133 new)
7    Sec. 5-1133. Counties of greater than 300,000 but less than 
82,000,000; reporting of information. 
9    A county board in a county with a population greater than 
10300,000 but less than 2,000,000 may by ordinance require any 
11unit of local government or agency to which the county board 
12chairman or county executive nominates and the county board 
13confirms a majority of member appointments to provide the 
14county with detailed information, including, but not limited 
15to, the unit's or agency's finances, budget, contracts, 
16employment, and ethics policies, in the manner and with the

1frequency specified by the ordinance. The ordinance may require 
2the unit of local government or agency to immediately disclose 
3to the county any internal or external findings of 
4non-compliance with any law or regulation involving the unit of 
5local government or agency and its personnel.

 
6    Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon 
7becoming law.".
