AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 551 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 551 by replacing 
3everything after the enacting clause with the following:


 
4    "Section 5. "AN ACT concerning State
government", approved 
5December 19, 2011, (Public Act 97-639) is amended by changing 
6Section 5-15 as follows:
 
7    (P.A. 97-639, Section 5-15)
8    Sec. 5-15. The Adjutant General shall not convey the real 
9property described in Section 5-10 to the City of Salem until 
10the Adjutant General determines that the property is no longer 
11required for military purposes. In this regard, construction of 
12the new Readiness Center in Mt. Vernon Salem must be completed, 
13and all military units with associated equipment must have been 
14transferred from the armory property described in Section 5-10 
15to the new Readiness Center in Mt. Vernon Salem.  Conveyance of 
16the above real property will be in an "as is" condition,

1subject to an Historic Preservation Covenant on the armory 
2buildings as approved by the Illinois Historic Preservation 
3Agency, and the City of Salem will pay all required costs and 
4expenses of the conveyance, as determined by the Adjutant 
5General.
