| 1 | | AN ACT concerning public aid.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by |
| 5 | | changing Section 4-1.6b as follows:
|

| 7 | | Sec. 4-1.6b. Date for providing aid; employability |
| 8 | | assessment. |
| 9 | | (a) The Department shall provide financial aid no more than |
| 10 | | 45 30 days after the date of application. |
| 11 | | (b) During the first 45 30 days after the date of |
| 12 | | application, the applicant shall undergo a thorough |
| 13 | | employability assessment, in accordance with subsection (d) of |
| 14 | | Section 9A-8 of this Code, and shall prepare a personal plan |
| 15 | | for achieving employment and self-sufficiency in accordance |
| 16 | | with Section 4-1 of this Code. The requirement to engage in |
| 17 | | work-related activity may commence 30 days after the date of |
| 18 | | application. |
| 19 | | (c) Financial aid under this Article shall be authorized |
| 20 | | effective 30 days after on the date of application, provided |
| 21 | | that the applicant is eligible on that date.
