| 1 | | AN ACT concerning local government.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,

| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Municipal Code is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 11-80-24 as follows:

| 7 | | Sec. 11-80-24. Grass cutting; public right-of-way. The |
| 8 | | corporate authorities of each municipality may require the |
| 9 | | owner or occupant of any premises to cut or trim the grass and |
| 10 | | weeds on the public lawn on the public right-of-way which abuts |
| 11 | | the premises.

| 12 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 13 | | becoming law.
