AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 1694




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1694 on page 7, by 
3replacing lines 16 through 25 with the following:
4    "(a) A deceased person's health care records may be 
5released as authorized by Section 8-802,  to the executor or 
6administrator of the person's estate, or to an agent appointed 
7under a power of attorney for health care.  When no executor, 
8administrator, or agent exists, and the deceased has not 
9specifically objected to disclosure of his or her records  in 
10writing, then a surviving spouse may make a written request for 
11a copy of the  deceased spouse's records."; and



 
12on page 8, by replacing line 1 with the following:
13    "If there is no surviving spouse,"; and
 
14on page 8, by replacing lines 3 and  4 with the following:
15"written request for a copy of the deceased patient's 
16records:"; and
