| 1 | | AN ACT concerning energy.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:

| 4 | | Section 5. The Illinois Power Agency Act is amended by |
| 5 | | adding Section 1-126 as follows:
|
| 6 | | (20 ILCS 3855/1-126 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 1-126. Summary of current and projected electric |
| 8 | | generation load; reports. Beginning on the effective date of |
| 9 | | this amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly, the Agency |
| 10 | | shall conduct a review of the information published by the |
| 11 | | regional transmission organizations (RTOs) in which the |
| 12 | | State's electric utilities' service territories are located |
| 13 | | for the purpose of summarizing current and projected electric |
| 14 | | generation load within each RTO, including what portion of the |
| 15 | | load is, or projected to be, generated by facilities located in |
| 16 | | Illinois. No later than January 1, 2012, the Agency shall issue |
| 17 | | a report to the General Assembly that summarizes this |
| 18 | | information.

| 19 | | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon |
| 20 | | becoming law.
