| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1883 on page 2, by |
| 3 | | replacing lines 18 through 24 with the following:

| 4 | | "economically justified. Each State university shall report |
| 5 | | annually to the Board on programs of instruction, research, or |
| 6 | | public service that have been terminated, dissolved, reduced, |
| 7 | | or consolidated by the university. Each State university shall |
| 8 | | also report to the Board all programs of instruction, research, |
| 9 | | and public service that exhibit a trend of low performance in |
| 10 | | enrollments, degree completions, and high expense per degree. |
| 11 | | The Board shall compile an annual report that shall contain |
| 12 | | information on new programs created, existing programs that |
| 13 | | have been closed or consolidated, and programs that exhibit low |
| 14 | | performance or productivity. The report must be submitted to |
| 15 | | the General Assembly. The Board shall have the authority to |
| 16 | | define relevant terms and timelines by rule with respect to |
| 17 | | this reporting.".
