| 1 | AN ACT concerning public aid.

| 2 | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
| ||||||
| 3 | represented in the General Assembly:
| ||||||
| 4 | Section 5. The Children's Health Insurance Program Act is | ||||||
| 5 | amended by adding Section 65 as follows: | ||||||
| 6 | (215 ILCS 106/65 new) | ||||||
| 7 | Sec. 65. Dental home initiative. The Department, in | ||||||
| 8 | cooperation with the dental community and other affected | ||||||
| 9 | organizations such as Head Start, shall work to develop and | ||||||
| 10 | promote the concept of a dental home for children covered under | ||||||
| 11 | this Act. Included in this dental home outreach should be an | ||||||
| 12 | effort to ensure an ongoing relationship between the patient | ||||||
| 13 | and the dentist with an effort to provide comprehensive, | ||||||
| 14 | coordinated, oral health care so that all children covered | ||||||
| 15 | under this Act have access to preventative and restorative oral | ||||||
| 16 | health care. | ||||||
| 17 | Section 10. The Covering ALL KIDS Health Insurance Act is | ||||||
| 18 | amended by adding Section 54 as follows: | ||||||
| 19 | (215 ILCS 170/54 new) | ||||||
| 20 | Sec. 54. Dental home initiative. The Department, in | ||||||
| 21 | cooperation with the dental community and other affected | ||||||

| 12 | Sec. 5-5.06. Dental home initiative. The Department, in | ||||||
| 13 | cooperation with the dental community and other affected | ||||||
| 14 | organizations such as Head Start, shall work to develop and | ||||||
| 15 | promote the concept of a dental home for children covered under | ||||||
| 16 | this Article. Included in this dental home outreach should be | ||||||

| 22 | Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect upon | ||||||
| 23 | becoming law. | ||||||
