| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 1971 by replacing |
| 3 | | everything after the enacting clause with the following:

| 4 | | "Section 5. The Mechanics Lien Act is amended by changing |
| 5 | | Section 6 as follows:

| 6 | | (770 ILCS 60/6) (from Ch. 82, par. 6)

| 7 | | Sec. 6.
In no event shall it be necessary to fix or |
| 8 | | stipulate in any
contract a time for the completion or a time |
| 9 | | for payment in order to obtain
a lien under this act, provided, |
| 10 | | that the work is done or material
furnished within one year |
| 11 | | three years from the completion commencement of said work or |
| 12 | | the completion
commencement of furnishing said material.
