| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
|
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Department of Commerce and Economic |
| 5 | | Opportunity Law of the
Civil Administrative Code of Illinois is |
| 6 | | amended by adding Section 605-1010 as follows:

| 8 | | Sec. 605-1010. Quarterly business report. The Department |
| 9 | | shall issue a quarterly report to the Commerce Committee of the |
| 10 | | Illinois Senate detailing the number of new businesses |
| 11 | | incorporating or otherwise forming in Illinois, the number of |
| 12 | | businesses not seeking renewal of their registration or having |
| 13 | | lapsed registration in Illinois, and the number of businesses |
| 14 | | renewing registrations in Illinois by category, including, but |
| 15 | | not limited to, sole proprietorships, partnerships, C |
| 16 | | corporations, S corporations, and limited liability companies. |
| 17 | | The report shall include that data with a column reflecting |
| 18 | | increases or decreases for each business type compared with the |
| 19 | | previous quarter. The Department shall publish the report on |
| 20 | | its website. The Department shall obtain any information |
| 21 | | necessary to create this report from the office of the |
| 22 | | Secretary of State.
