| 2 | | AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3261 on page 34, |
| 3 | | after line 13, by inserting the following: |
| 4 | | "(c-5) After the effective date of this amendatory Act of |
| 5 | | the 97th General Assembly and until the end of the transition |
| 6 | | period described in subdivision (d)(1) of this Section, persons |
| 7 | | licensed as a First Responder are deemed to be licensed as an |
| 8 | | Emergency Medical Responder, persons licensed as an Emergency |
| 9 | | Medical Technician-Basic or "EMT-B" are deemed to be licensed |
| 10 | | as an Emergency Medical Technician or "EMT", and persons |
| 11 | | licensed as an Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic or |
| 12 | | "EMT-P" are deemed to be licensed as a Paramedic."; and

| 13 | | on page 34, line 23, after the period, by inserting the |
| 14 | | following: "Within 270 days after the effective date of this |
| 15 | | amendatory Act of the 97th General Assembly, the Department |
| 16 | | shall establish by administrative rule a transition period of |
| 17 | | 24 months for EMS Systems within each EMS Region to educate all |
