AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3341




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3341 on page 2 by 
3inserting immediately below line 17 the following:
  
4    "(c) A person who is in the business of purchasing precious 
5metal shall provide a copy of the information required to be 
6obtained under subdivision (a)(1)(B) of this Section to the 
7parties as specified in this subsection.   The copy shall be 
8delivered before the hour of 12 o'clock noon the day after any 
9day the person conducts business and shall contain the 
10information acquired by the person the immediately preceding 
11day the person conducted business. A person who is in the 
12business of purchasing precious metal in a county with fewer 
13than 3,000,000 inhabitants shall submit the copy to the sheriff 
14of that county. In municipalities having a population of 25,000 
15or more inhabitants that are located in counties with fewer 
16than 3,000,000 inhabitants, a copy shall also be submitted to 
17municipal police department. In  municipalities located in

1counties with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants, the report shall 
2be submitted to the municipal police department. In counties 
3with 3,000,000 or more inhabitants, a person in the business of 
4purchasing precious metal whose business is located in an 
5unincorporated area of the county shall submit the copy to the 
6sheriff. The copy may be made by computer print out or input 
7memory device if the format has been approved by the entity 
8receiving the copy."; and
 
9on page 3, line 3, by changing "General" to "General, local 
10police department, and sheriff"; and
 
11on page 3 by inserting immediately below line 6 the following:
 
12    "Section 25. Exemption.  This Act does not apply to  persons 
13licensed under the Pawnbroker Regulation Act.".
