AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 3357 




2    AMENDMENT NO. ______. Amend Senate Bill 3357, AS AMENDED, 
3with reference to page and line numbers of Senate Amendment No. 
41,  on page 8, in line 24, by replacing "service. If a police" 
5with the following:


6"service.
7    (a) If a police"; and
 
8on page 9, by inserting below line 11 the following:
9    "(b) A retired police officer who accepts temporary 
10employment  for a period not exceeding 75 working days in any 
11calendar year is not considered to make a re-entry into active 
12service within the meaning of this Section. Any part of a day 
13on temporary employment is considered a full day of employment.   
14Employee contributions under Section 3-125.1 shall not be 
15deducted nor shall creditable service time be granted during 
16the period of temporary employment."; and

1on page 13, by inserting below line 6 the following:
2    "(d) A retired firefighter who accepts temporary 
3employment  for a period not exceeding 75 working days in any 
4calendar year is not considered to make a re-entry into active 
5service within the meaning of this Section. Any part of a day 
6on temporary employment is considered a full day of employment.   
7Employee contributions under Section 4-118.1 shall not be 
8deducted nor shall creditable service time be granted during 
9the period of temporary employment.".
