| 1 | | AN ACT concerning gaming.

| 2 | | Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois, |
| 3 | | represented in the General Assembly:
|
| 4 | | Section 5. The Video Gaming
Act is amended by adding |
| 5 | | Section 79 as follows: |
| 6 | | (230 ILCS 40/79 new) |
| 7 | | Sec. 79. Investigators. Investigators appointed by the |
| 8 | | Board pursuant to the powers conferred upon the Board by |
| 9 | | paragraph (20.6) of subsection (c) of Section 5 of the |
| 10 | | Riverboat Gambling Act and Section 80 of this Act shall have |
| 11 | | authority to conduct investigations, searches, seizures, |
| 12 | | arrests, and other duties imposed under this Act and the |
| 13 | | Riverboat Gambling Act, as deemed necessary by the Board. These |
| 14 | | investigators have and may exercise all of the rights and |
| 15 | | powers of peace officers, provided that these powers shall be |
| 16 | | (1) limited to offenses or violations occurring or committed in |
| 17 | | connection with conduct subject to this Act, including, but not |
| 18 | | limited to, the manufacture, distribution, supply, operation, |
| 19 | | placement, service, maintenance, or play of video gaming |
| 20 | | terminals and the distribution of profits and collection of |
| 21 | | revenues resulting from such play, and (2) exercised, to the |
| 22 | | fullest extent practicable, in cooperation with the local |
| 23 | | police department of the applicable municipality or, if these |
