SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of William "Papa" Passero of Westmont, who 
4passed away on December 14, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, William Passero was the owner and founder of Papa 
6Passero's Family Pizzeria in Westmont; he opened the restaurant 
7in 1977; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, He was born in Chicago; he served in the United 
9States Navy; after his service he opened a number of 
10restaurants in the Chicago area before opening the location in 
11Westmont; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Many of the recipes at the restaurant were his 
13own, including the dough and the meatballs; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, He hosted a free lunch buffet for local military 
15veterans, police officers, and firefighters each Memorial Day 
16and Veterans Day for the past 15 years; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, William Passero is survived by his wife, Dolores; 
18his children, William "Billy", Andrew, and Linda Trilla; his 
19sister, Florence; his 11 grandchildren; and his 2 
20great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family, friends, and loyal customers, the passing of 
4William "Papa" Passero; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of William Passero as a symbol of our 
7sincere sympathy.
