SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Dorothy L. Carben, who passed away on 
4January 30, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Dorothy Carben served as a religion teacher for 52 
6years; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Dorothy Carben was the past Worthy Matron of the 
8Olive Chapter of Eastern Star #396 and the Royal Matron of the 
9Former Steel City Court; she was also a member of Church of the 
10Four Seasons; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Dorothy Carben was preceded in death by her 
12husband, Victor Carben; her brothers, Robert and Norman 
13Barnhouse; and her sister, Betty Jane Chadwick; and

  
 
14    WHEREAS, Dorothy Carben is survived by her children, 
15Marilyn (Pete) Tsikouris, Phyllis Eastman, Laverne (Jerry) 
16Sprague, Victor (Sheri), James (Chris) Carben, and Randy (Mary) 
17Carben; her brother, Richard (Patricia) Barnhouse; her 27 
18grandchildren; her 32 great-grandchildren; and her many nieces 
19and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
2her family and friends, the passing of Dorothy L. Carben; and 
3be it further
  
 
4    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
5presented to the family of Dorothy Carben as an expression of 
6our sympathy.
