SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Bolingbrook Police Officer Sava Basic, II 
4of Plainfield, who passed away on January 30, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Sava Basic was born on January 25, 1985 in 
6Winfield; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, He was a 2003 graduate of Neuqua Valley High 
8School; he graduated from Westwood College in 2007 with a 
9Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, He was sworn in as an officer of  the Bolingbrook 
11Police Department on February 12, 2008; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, He married Megan on June 29, 2007 and soon after 
13they welcomed Brianna into their lives; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Sava Basic leaves behind his one true love, Megan 
15(Jones) Basic, and his beautiful princess, Brianna; he was the 
16devoted son of Joanne (Russell) and Sava Basic; he was the 
17cherished brother of Mehi (Caty) Basic; he was the treasured 
18son-in-law of Gary and Cindy Jones; he was the loving 
19brother-in-law of Laura (Devin) Patel and Kristin (Chris) 
20Knight; he was the fond uncle of Natalie Patel and Alex and

1Sophia Knight; he was the adored nephew of Kathy (Charlie) 
2Krikorian, Sue (Jim) Sutphen, and Milica (Bob) Wolfgram; he was 
3a cousin to Allie Krikorian, Tyler, Rachel, and Jake Sutphen, 
4and Stevan and Alex Wolfgram; he was the amazing friend of 
5Alex, Brian, Eric, Matthew, Eric, Kriss, Scottie, and many, 
6many more; and he was the beloved grandson of Ruth (Bozidar) 
7Sokolovic, the late Mary and Richard Russell, and the late 
8Nikola Basic; therefore, be it
  
 
9    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
10ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we  mourn, along with 
11his family, friends, and community, the passing of Bolingbrook 
12Police Officer Sava Basic; and be it further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to the family of Bolingbrook Police Officer Sava 
15Basic as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
