| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
Dorothy Marie Stumpe of Alton, who passed |
| 4 | | away on February 12, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe was born on November 9, 1931, in |
| 6 | | Bremen; her parents were Henry and Marie (Schnoeker) Wilson; |
| 7 | | she married Roger W. Stumpe on April 11, 1952; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe graduated from Chester High |
| 9 | | School; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Dorothy Stumpe was employed as the secretary to |
| 11 | | the Alton Park and Recreation Commission for more than 25 |
| 12 | | years, first at the Rock Springs office and then at the Haskell |
| 13 | | Park office; she enjoyed helping Alton families sign up for |
| 14 | | park events and helped enroll thousands of young people on |
| 15 | | Little League and soccer teams; she was particularly proud to |
| 16 | | assist in the development of Moore Park; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, After retiring from the Alton Park and Recreation |
| 18 | | Commission, Dorothy Stumpe traveled the world with her friends |
| 19 | | to numerous places, including Europe, Australia, and Africa; |
| 20 | | she was also an avid gardener and walker; and
|
