SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Correctional Officer Tracey Cooper, who 
4passed away on September 28, 2010; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Correctional Officer Cooper had served with the 
6Illinois Department of Corrections for 15 years and was 
7assigned to the Stateville Correctional Center; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Correctional Officer Cooper was active in his 
9community and coached youth baseball; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Correctional Officer Cooper was a proud member of 
11the Illinois Department of Corrections FOP Lodge #263; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Correctional Officer Cooper leaves behind his 
13wife, his 2 sons, and his 2 daughters; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Correctional Officer Cooper dedicated and gave 
15his life to protecting and serving the people of the State of 
16Illinois; therefore, be it
  
 
17    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
18ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
19his family, friends, and his Fraternal Order of Police brothers

1and sisters, the passing of Correctional Officer Tracey Cooper; 
2and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Correctional Officer Tracey Cooper 
5as an expression of our sympathy.
