SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
 Mark Alan Darnell of Benton, Louisiana, 
4formerly of Akin, who passed away on May 5, 2011; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Mark Darnell was born on April 21, 1946, in Akin; 
6he was the son of Carl F. "Pat" Darnell and Dana (Marquis) 
7Darnell; he was a graduate of Benton High School; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Mark Darnell served his country with pride and 
9distinction as a member of the United States Army; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Mark Darnell loved horses and worked in the 
11thoroughbred horse industry for many years in many capacities; 
12and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Mark Darnell was preceded in death by his loving 
14companion, Louise Fricks; his parents; his sister, Lois Mae 
15Andriano; and his brothers, Carl Dean Darnell, Bill Darnell, 
16and Jesse Darnell; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Mark Darnell is survived by his brothers, Donald 
18Darnell, Ronald Darnell, Jimmy Darnell, and Phil Darnell; his 
19sister, Edna Williams; his loving companion's daughter, Tracy 
20(John) Thadford; his "grandchildren", Kami and Ashlyn Lodwig;

1and his many nieces, nephews, and cousins; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4his family and friends, the passing of Mark Alan Darnell; and 
5be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Mark Darnell as an expression of our 
8sympathy.
