SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to  
3learn of the death of
Wojciech Lis of East Peoria, who passed 
4away on April 13, 2009; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Wojciech Lis was born on April 21, 1937, in 
6Turowka, Poland; his parents were Piotr and Maria (Michalina) 
7Lis; he married Sophie Blaszkiewicz on December 26, 1960, in 
8Sancygniow, Poland; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Wojciech Lis became a United States citizen in 
101986; he was employed as a bookbinder at Bradley University in 
11Peoria for 25 years until his retirement; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Wojciech Lis was a member of Blessed Sacrament 
13Catholic Church in Morton; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Wojciech Lis was preceded in death by his 
15granddaughter and his parents; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Wojciech Lis is survived by his wife, Sophie; his 
17daughter, Maggie (Chet) Bilows; his son, Jerry (Teresa) Lis; 
18his four grandchildren; his brother, Jan (Ola) Lis; and his 
19sister, Zofia (Edward) Gadzicki; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
3his family and friends, the passing of Wojciech Lis; and be it

5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Wojciech Lis as an expression of our 
7sympathy.
