SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary W. Willi of Peoria, who passed away on August 9, 2011; and

WHEREAS, She was born July 6, 1915, in Funks Grove, a daughter of Frederick C. and Flora Sims Wright; she married Boyd J. Rahn on January 3, 1942, in Peoria; he passed away in 1962; she then married Carl H. Willi on June 14, 1969, in Peoria, and he passed away in 1986; and

WHEREAS, She obtained her master's degree in education from Bradley University; she was a teacher for District 150, teaching at White School for many years; she was involved with Reading for the Blind through WBCU; and

WHEREAS, She volunteered at the information desk at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center; she also served as a Eucharist minister for Bel-Wood Nursing Home; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husbands; her sons, Rex Rahn and Paul Willi; her granddaughter, Barbara Willi; her grandsons, Jacob Willi and Bernie Hayden Jr.; and her brothers, Frederick and Richard Wright; and

WHEREAS, Mary Willi is survived by her daughters, Mary Angela (Ed) Willi, Martha (Don Schwingel) Willi, and Mary Hayden; her sons, David (Lucy) Rahn, John (Sandy) Rahn, Robert (Sharey) Willi, John (Susan) Willi, Edward (Mary Angela) Willi, David (Michelle) Willi, Mark (Dana) Willi, Pete (Mary) Willi, and Martin (Mary) Willi; her daughter-in-law, Cathi Willi; her 38 grandchildren; her 36 great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Jean (John) Licata and Joann Norton; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Mary Willi; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Willi as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
