SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Bobbi Lynn (Sims) West of Benton, who passed away on September 28, 2011; and

WHEREAS, Bobbi was born July 21, 1961, to Bob and Alice (Gray) Sims in Joliet; she was a 1979 graduate of Vienna High School and the school's homecoming queen her senior year; she worked at Marion Eye Center and later at Blue Cross Blue Shield in Marion; and

WHEREAS, She was an advocate for breast cancer awareness and annual mammogram check-ups; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her mother, Alice Sims; and her stepson, Travis West; and

WHEREAS, Bobbi West is survived by her husband, Garry; her children, Heather (Upchurch) Roesch and husband, Jason, Kyle Upchurch, and Bailey Muir; her granddaughter, Jaylyn Roesch; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Sherri Vick and husband, Mark and Lisa Brown and husband, James; her father and stepmother, Bob and Norma Sims; her nieces and nephews, Jonathan Vick and Allyson Vick and Benjamin Brown and AnnaKate Brown; her stepbrother, Darrin Kerr and his wife, Margaret, and their sons, Aidan and Collin; her special stepchildren from a previous marriage, Lyndsay Muir, Mackenzie (Muir) Broyles, and Caleb Muir; she is also survived by several aunts and uncles and countless friends; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Bobbi West; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Bobbi West as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
