| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Lillie Davis, who passed away on August |
| 4 | | 21, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Davis was born on June 17, 1913, in |
| 6 | | Tutwiler, Mississippi; her parents were Howard and Daisy |
| 7 | | Melton; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Davis accepted Christ as her Lord and |
| 9 | | Savior and became a member of New Hope Baptist Church of |
| 10 | | Memphis, Tennessee; she was a member of the church's Mother |
| 11 | | Board for several years and was embraced by everyone that she |
| 12 | | came into contact with; she spent the majority of her life |
| 13 | | caring and blessing those she knew and loved; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Davis was preceded in death by her husband, |
| 15 | | Earl Davis Sr.; her parents; her 12 brothers and sisters; her |
| 16 | | children, Flabe Hunter and Othie Lee Davis; and her son-in-law, |
| 17 | | Lucious Hunter; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Lillie Davis is survived by her children, Lillie |
| 19 | | Mae McBride (Gene McBride), Earl Davis Jr., and Louise Davis; |
| 20 | | her 25 grandchildren; more than 20 great-grandchildren; and her |
| 21 | | many nieces, nephews, and loved ones; therefore, be it
