SENATE RESOLUTION

 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to
3learn of the death of Mildred Julia Grandone, who passed away
4on November 18, 2011; and
 
5    WHEREAS, Mildred Grandone was born on January 7, 1921, in
6Gillespie; her parents were Mikhail Bertolis and Anna
7(Yanalitis) Bertolis; she married James J. Grandone Sr. on
8December 26, 1942, in Greensboro, North Carolina; and
 
9    WHEREAS, Mildred Grandone lived in Gillespie until 1957;
10she then lived at her residence in Alton from 1957 to 2010; she
11lived in Grand Junction from 2010 to 2011; and
 
12    WHEREAS, Mildred Grandone was a graduate of Gillespie High
13School; she was employed as a licensed Realtor in Alton for 15
14years; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Mildred Grandone was a talented decorator and
16seamstress who loved antiques; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Mildred Grandone was a member of St. Mary's
18Catholic Church in Alton, the Daughters of Isabella, and the
19National Association of Realtors; and

1    WHEREAS, Mildred Grandone was preceded in death by her
2husband; her parents; her brother, Joe; and her sisters,
3Beatrice and Vera; and
 
4    WHEREAS, Mildred Grandone is survived by her son, James M.
5(Mary) Grandone; her daughter, Carol A. (Francis) Raley; and
6her grandchildren, Erin J. Shenk, Michael J. Shenk, and James
7John Grandone II; therefore, be it
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
10her family and friends, the passing of Mildred Julia Grandone;
11and be it further
 
12    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
13presented to the family of Mildred Grandone as an expression of
14our sympathy.
