| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Therese Frances (Martin) Smith of |
| 4 | | Owatonna, Minnesota, who passed away on December 8, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, She was born December 21, 1925, in Emmetsburg, |
| 6 | | Iowa, graduated from College of St. Theresa in Winona, where |
| 7 | | she met World War II veteran John M. Smith, whom she married |
| 8 | | July 29, 1950; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, They made their home in Owatonna, where they |
| 10 | | raised 7 children; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her husband, John; |
| 12 | | and her 5 siblings; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Therese Frances (Martin) Smith will be dearly |
| 14 | | missed by many, most especially her sons, Bernard Patrick, |
| 15 | | Stephen John, and Robert Martin; her daughters, Anne Therese |
| 16 | | Lauer, Mary Louise ("Molly"), Tracy Marie, and Kathleen Bridget |
| 17 | | Madden ("Kasey"); and her 15 grandchildren; therefore, be it

| 18 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
| 19 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
| 20 | | her family and friends, the passing of Therese Frances (Martin) |
