| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of
Willie Mae Walker; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker was born March 7, 1921 in Little |
| 5 | | Rock, Arkansas; her parents were Willie and Beatrice Morgan; |
| 6 | | she married Lee Roy Walker on May 9, 1953; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker received her formal education in |
| 8 | | the East Saint Louis Public School system and graduated from |
| 9 | | Lincoln High School; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, After she got married, Willie Mae Walker relocated |
| 11 | | with her husband to New York City, where she enjoyed visiting |
| 12 | | her family and friends; she later returned to East St. Louis, |
| 13 | | where she found much pleasure in taking care of and nurturing |
| 14 | | children; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker accepted Christ as her personal |
| 16 | | Savior and her faith was strong; she was a devoted member of |
| 17 | | New Bethlehem Baptist Church and served on the Mother's Board; |
| 18 | | she faithfully attended Sunday School, imparted wisdom, and |
| 19 | | took pleasure in Bible readings; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Willie Mae Walker was preceded in death by her |
