| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of John M. "Jack" Geraghty of Plainfield, |
| 4 | | who passed away on November 10, 2011; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, He was born and raised on the Northwest side of |
| 6 | | Chicago and graduated from St. Pascal's Elementary School and |
| 7 | | St. Patrick's High School; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, He was a Veteran of the United States Army and |
| 9 | | served in the Philippines at the end of World War II; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, He was a Sergeant with the Chicago Police |
| 11 | | Department and charter member of the Sergeant Association; he |
| 12 | | was a realtor with Century 21 and Remax and an accomplished |
| 13 | | home builder and renovater; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, |
| 15 | | grandfather, uncle, cousin, and friend to many; he was the true |
| 16 | | "Chairman of the Board" and enjoyed a good laugh, a cold pint, |
| 17 | | and a great story; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, John Geraghty was the loving husband and best |
| 19 | | friend of 60 years to Donna, nee Kenealy; the devoted father of |
| 20 | | Colleen (Michael) Lowery, Jack (Peggy), Daniel (Diane), Mary |
|

| 9 | | (Carol), Michael, and Kathleen (Ken) Younkin; the cherished son |
| 10 | | of the late Nora, nee Costello and the late Michael Geraghty; |
| 11 | | and the loving cousin "Johnny" of many; therefore, be it

| 12 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL |
| 13 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with |
| 14 | | his family and friends, the passing of John Geraghty; and be it |
| 15 | | further

| 16 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
| 17 | | presented to the family of John Geraghty as a symbol of our |
| 18 | | sincere sympathy.
