SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Tracy Anderson Cuevas of Rantoul, who passed away on December 30, 2011; and

WHEREAS, She was born March 4, 1958, a daughter of George and Deloris (Falk) Anderson; she married Nelson Cuevas on August 21, 2004, at Word of Life Church, Rantoul; and

WHEREAS, She was raised the daughter of an Air Force sergeant and attended many schools: Gwinn, Michigan; K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base, Michigan; Ramey Air Force Base, Puerto Rico; Oscoda, Michigan; and Eastlawn, Myna Thompson, J.W. Eater, and Rantoul Township High School, all in Rantoul, where she graduated; following graduation, she lived the rest of her life in Rantoul; and

WHEREAS, She became a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors in 2004, and on July 24, 2005, she was ordained a minister of Christian Life Church, Rantoul; she and her husband started a ministry to Hispanic/Latino children in 2003; in October 2004, they founded Cultivators, a nonprofit agency; through the years, it grew into a substantial ministry whose mission was to provide education and training to members of the Hispanic/Latino community and others in matters attending to their financial, social, and spiritual lives; she was an avid flower gardener and loved her dogs; and

WHEREAS, She was preceded in death by her father; and

WHEREAS, Tracy Cuevas is survived by her husband, Nelson; her mother; her foster daughter, Amy Chipman; her sister, Terri (Ken) Bingaman; her brother, Tim (Bobbi) Anderson; and a niece and 5 nephews; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SEVENTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with her family and friends, the passing of Tracy Cuevas; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Tracy Cuevas as a symbol of our sincere sympathy.
